The Wait is Finally Over!

You may have heard rumors that a new version of Oil Camp has been in the works. If so, the rumors are true…and it’s finished! 

This page will answer just about every question you have about the updates. Please read it carefully so you have all the info you need! You may want to print this so you can easily reference it while you check out the new course. Ready to dive in???? 

Here Are Some of the Key Changes:

• It’s Shorter: Have you noticed that customer attention spans are getting shorter and shorter?!? We have. Participation started taking a hit in Week 2, fewer people were completing camp, and we wanted to fix that. Oil Camp is now 10 days (instead of 13), and we were able to trim it back without losing much content! Your camper's time commitment is still 15-20 minutes per day.
• It's Prettier: We hired an AMAZING graphic designer to help us re-create the whole look and feel of Oil Camp. It's BEAUTIFUL!! You now have updated PowerPoints and graphics to use in your camp.
• Point Tracking Has Been Modified: Alright listen. We tried to get rid of point tracking. We tried to majorly simplify it. We desperately wanted to make this part of Oil Camp easier for you (and for our own team!) But here’s the reality…point tracking works. It creates engagement and accountability, it gets customers opening their bottles and participating, and at the end of the day, that’s what you need in order to create converted customers! It creates the dynamic that we know WORKS. As much as we wanted to simplify it for ALL of us, we’re just not willing to compromise when it comes to engagement and accountability. That said, point tracking has shifted somewhat and there is a new point tracker spreadsheet for you to use that matches the new 10-day version of camp. • Groups vs Events: Facebook is always changing and evolving. With that comes the regular question, "Where should I host my camp?" I have a new way of hosting camp within Facebook, so to hear the conversation about Events vs Groups vs Groups with Units, listen to Module 6.1. 
• It's Better For Your Coaches: We want to make your life as easy as possible. While we were upleveling things, we updated and upgraded the Coach Portal! There are now even MORE training videos and resources included (which means less training that you have to do!) Along with that, we have eliminated the Oil Camp Demonstration group in Facebook and moved all the content inside the Coach Portal. No more adding leaders to the group and waiting to get approved! Now all the resources for your coaches are in one simple place and they can have instant access to everything they need. And...we included TALKING POINTS for every single video! With this resource, your coaches will feel more confident (and less stressed!) about making videos for your camp. 
• It's More Thorough: You will notice a significant change in the course layout and number of modules. After teaching this content for 3 years, we know exactly where people get stuck, have questions, or make choices that might shortchange their results. We provided a lot more training up front to set leaders up for even more success with Oil Camp.

Why the update?

Our goal is to make your life easier and your camps better. That said, we are very aware of the burden you feel as leaders to change and update your camps every time we make modifications. We want to be sensitive to that and all the work you have already done to get your camps up and running.

So to be clear, YOU DO NOT NEED TO CHANGE ANYTHING if you don’t want to! Oil Camp has worked wonderfully well for years now. If you don’t want to change it now, don’t. If you don’t want to change it ever, no problem! The free update is our gift to you, and you can do with it what you will. :) 

Is there a summary of changes to the Posting Template?

No. The Posting Template was rearranged significantly, so it will be fastest for you to download the new Posting Template and simply insert your team's video links where indicated. If you'd like a walk through of the new layout, you'll find it in Module 3.5. (You can also visualize the new Oil Camp in the module titled "Oil Camp Demo".) 

Do I need to make any new videos?

What made you think to ask?? ;) Just ONE new video is needed, and there's a PowerPoint and script to make it super easy! It's a Wrapping Up video for the very last post of camp. We'd encourage you to watch the video in Module 3.5 to get the quick overview of the new Oil Camp, but if you're in a hurry and just want the information about THIS video, you'll find it in Module 3.5, Video #1, starting at the 30:45 mark. Check out Video #2 as well - the Oil Camp Companion Kit is now available!! (Video #2 shows the kit, Video #1 talks through how to incorporate the kit at the 6:50 mark.)

While it isn't a NEW video, you will want to re-record your Day 1 Orientation as the PowerPoint has been updated with new graphics. This will be a quick and easy update for you, the PowerPoint and script are provided in the course.

How will my coaches access the new Coach Portal? 

Great question! The updated Coach Portal has been added to the library of anyone who had access to the old Coach Portal. Your coaches will receive their own email with information about how to log in. (Note: If you haven't yet added your coaches to the Coach Portal and you're ready to do that, check Module 4.3 for instructions!) Additionally, we know that as leaders you like to know exactly what resources your team members have access to. With that in mind, we've added the Coach Portal to YOUR library as well. 

Where do I find all the downloads? 

You'll notice in the course that there are downloads housed within the individual lessons. HOWEVER, to make your life easy we created one central module called "Summary of Downloads". All the new stuff is waiting for you there! 

I'm in Australia / Canada. Is the new camp ready for me?

YES!! You'll find your market-specific downloads listed under the "Summary of Downloads" module. 

Are there any other languages available?

Almost!! The new and improved Oil Camp will be available in Latin Spanish in the next few weeks. You'll receive an email when it goes live with details on how to purchase it.

Did the checklists change? 

Yes, you'll want to download the new checklists. We've worked really hard to incorporate your suggestions and our new ideas to make your life as simple as possible. You'll notice quite a few new downloads, too many to discuss here, but scope them out in the course! If you are not sure how to use them, simply watch the associated video tutorials. 

Where do I find the "associated video tutorials"? 

Really great question. If you're looking at the downloads in the "Summary of Downloads" module, you won't be able to see the training videos. Watch this quick video to see the fastest way to find what you're looking for.

Do I need to go through the entire course again?

No! If you already have a functioning Oil Camp, simply download the relevant documents and make your changes! The course is much more robust than it was previously, so there are definitely new things in there that you didn't have the first time around. We've tried to summarize some key sections below, but the overhaul was so complete that it's hard to pinpoint each and every part of the course where we added something new. Feel free to explore as much of the course as you'd like, but know that if what you are doing is working well, just keep doing what you're doing!
